About us

Envirosonic NZ is a new company in New Zealand set up to promote the scientific and environmentally friendly use of low power ultrasound technology. We aim to use this technology to solve a variety of real world environmental problems such as:

  • Control of algae and bacteria in
    • power stations
    • cooling towers
    • lakes
    • reservoirs
    • canals
    • public and
    • private water supplies etc
  • Water treatment in horticulture
  • Irrigation systems
  • An alternative to harmful antifouling agents in the protection of yachts and commercial vessels
  • Control of harmful algae and bugs in diesel storage tanks.

EnviroSonic UK, who we represent, is one of the pioneers of ultrasound usage in environmental problems and is headed by two eminent scientists, Drs Jonathan Newman and Neville Hampton, both highly respected in the field of innovative uses of ultrasound. EnviroSonic UK has been active for a number of years and has an enviable record of success in the use of this technology which has a solid scientific foundation.

We are seeing more and more evidence of climate change in the proliferation of algal blooms worldwide. As a company we are committed to the environment first and foremost and our solutions have been proven over many installations worldwide to be very environmentally friendly and highly cost effective for business and industry. Many of the blooms are highly toxic and harmful to other forms of wildlife and humans.

The extra energy required to pump and process water affected by blooms is considerable and wasteful of both energy itself and costly manpower required for cleaning and maintenance.

In New Zealand we pride ourselves on our environment and EnviroSonic NZ's aim is to help make that environment safer, cleaner and more beautiful, always by chemically free solutions.
